Ivan survived lockdown, and now he just wants to smash something.

But when life dangles a piñata in front of you, what do you? Do you keep your blindfold on? Or take a swing?

As as boy, Ivan bashed many piñatas. Decades later, he must confront this tradition once again; but this time in Japan, with his Mum on the day he turned forty.

But the irony of the piñata is: you must destroy something beautiful to get to the good stuff inside.
